What's New for 2009
The sporty version of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer is embodied in the TrailBlazer SS, which features unique exterior styling and specific interior appointments. Big 20-inch flangeless wheels and a dropped stance on the TrailBlazer SS give the SUV an aggressive appearance, with the performance to back it up. With a specially tuned suspension where the springs are up to 25% stiffer than the LT model, and front stabilizer bars are 10% larger, the TrailBlazer provides a firmer feel and less body roll for improved handling.
Propelling the TrailBlazer SS is the powerful LS2 powerplant. The 6.0L V-8 engine produces 390 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, which impressively propels the TrailBlazer from 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. New to the TrailBlazer is a new Hydra-Matic 4L70 electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission that was beefed up to handle the extra power. Special high-strength and high-treated materials were used in the automatic transmission to ensure smooth and dependable shifting.
The TrailBlazer SS comes in two- and four-wheel-drive packages.
