Tiger Woods and General Motors End Nine Year Sponsorship Relationship
November 24, 2008

Tiger Woods, the championship-winning professional golfer and Buick spokesman for the past nine years, has officially announced his mutual sponsorship separation with General Motors effective the end of this year.
The reasoning behind ending the long standing agreement stems from the automaker's many cost cutting measures, as well as Tiger's need for more time to tend to his wife, who is expecting their second child this winter.
A few weeks ago, Buick and GM both expressed they had no interest in breaking ties with the world's number one ranked golfer, but given the worsening economic conditions, the multi-million dollar decision makes perfect sense.
