Overstock is one of the largest issues facing a producer of consumer goods during economic downtime. Right now, automakers are struggling to move products off dealer lots. Nearly every automaker has cut production targets, and, today, Automotive News reports that Honda will make more cuts in North America.

According to AN, 18,000 units will be slashed from Honda's planned production. The move comes after a 25% drop in sales when compared with last year.

Of the total cuts, 12,000 will come from Honda's Alabama plant, which produces the Pilot SUV and Odyssey minivan, by the way of scaled back production over a period of four months. Two plants in Ohio, Marysville and East Liberty, will lose 6000 units from their schedule by the way of extended winter holidays.
