Chevy Traverse

Engine: 3.6-liter DOHC V-6 with gas direct-injection gives the Traverse a much-needed boost in power versus the 2008 Lambdas. 286-horsepower/255 pound-feet with dual exhaust, 281/253 with single exhaust. Six-speed automatic and choice of front- or all-wheel drive.

Suspension: Struts with an anti-roll bar in front/linked H-arm independent rear on isolated subframe.

Wheel sizes: 17, 18, and 20 inches

Wheelbase: 118.9 inches

Length x width x height: 205 x 78.4 x 72.8 inches

Seating capacity: Seven or eight

Select options: Rear ultrasonic parking assist, rearview camera, power liftgate, remote vehicle start, heated windshield-washer fluid, DVD entertainment system, DVD navigation, heated and cooled front seats, XM Satellite Radio with real-time traffic.


Ford Flex

Engine: 3.5-liter DOHC V-6, "more than" 260 horsepower, 245 pound-feet. Six-speed automatic and choice of front- or all-wheel drive.

Suspension: Struts front with rear-facing L-shaped lower control arm, hydrobushing, and an anti-roll bar on an isolated subframe in front/rear independent coil-over shocks and hydroformed lower control arms, fully isolated subframe.

Wheel sizes: 17, 18, and 19 inches

Wheelbase: 117.9 inches

Length x width x height: 202.3 x 79.9 x 67.6 inches

Seating capacity: Six or seven

Select options: Two-tone paint (white suede or silver roof), multi-panel vista roof, rear backup camera, power liftgate, Microsoft Sync voice recognition, programmable ambient lighting, refrigerator between second-row seats, one-touch flip-and-fold second row, navigation with real-time traffic, weather and 23,000-song jukebox.
