First Look: Ford's New 4.4L V-8 Diesel Engine

Ford's as yet unreleased 4.4L V-8 diesel engine for its flagship F-150 truck has been caught in pictures according to pickuptrucks.com. Underhood pictures of the test truck sporting the new diesel were taken while the truck was being prepared for transport. Despite a current legal dispute with its long-time diesel-engine supplier Navistar, the Ford diesel still brandished the well-known Power Stroke on the engine plastics. The Ford 4.4L V-8 diesel engine is expected to be available in late 2009 F-150 models and is to become the base engine for Ford's Super Duty pickup trucks. The engines will be built in Mexico and are expected to be officially introduced at the 2009 Chicago auto show.
