"I'm in a good position to make some notes on the CR-V," observes copy editor James Dryden, "as my wife just happens to own a 2006." Regarding our long-term 2007, Dryden feels "the styling is great, with lots of cool, curved lines-the 2006 is more boxlike, though that's hardly a bad thing-and the 2007 has more comfortable seats. Plus, the soft and supple leather, which is also featured in the steering wheel and shift knob, gives the 2007 a more upscale look than on the 2006. Finally, the 2007 has a nav, which the 2006 doesn't. But that's about where my admiration stops." What's bugging Dryden about the 2007? "The navigation DVD-ROM is located in the center console, eating up storage space; at speed on the highway, the CR-V sometimes starts to shake [others have noticed this, too-we'll check for a tire imbalance]; it's sluggish when packed with passengers; and my wife thinks it rides a lot lower than the 2006, making visibility worse."
