Brabus Introduces Mercedes-Benz Diesel SUV Tuning Kit

Brabus Mercedes Benz Diesel Front View

If the 306 horsepower in the Mercedes-Benz GL420 CDI (pictured) or ML420 CDI isn't providing enough oomph to get the kids to the soccer game in time, Brabus has the solution. The famous German tuning shop's new PowerXtra D8 (III) kit substantially increases engine output by 44 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a half-second improvement in 0-60 acceleration and a 10 mph top speed boost.

Not bad for a modification that can be installed by your local Benz dealer in under 30 minutes, doesn't void your warranty and leaves the vehicle emissions-compliant. Although ML420 and GL420 are not sold in the U.S., it is possible they may be arriving in a year or two as Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its diesel lineup. We expect plenty of these Brabus kits would be ordered right along with them if the diesel SUVs make it here.

Brabus does a full range of accessories and tuning kits for both the ML and GL-Class across the model range, so if you want that "subtle as a jackhammer" look and sound typical of Brabus vehicles, you can get it now for your gas-powered, U.S. market Benz ute.
