
Auto News: 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee CDI

For 2007, the Grand Cherokee will not only be E85-capable, but there will be a diesel version. The engine is a 3.0 liter common-rail turbodiesel built by Mercedes-Benz, which produces 215 horsepower at 3800 rpm and 376 pound-feet of torque at 1600-2800 rpm, with an estimated fuel economy of 19/23 mpg. Towing capacity will be 7400 pounds, with a driving range of 425 miles. Look for behind-the-wheel impressions in the November/December issue of Truck Trend.
