Like a lot of New Yorkers, the Jeep brand is willing to "go anywhere and do anything" to find a parking place in Manhattan. Thursday morning, October 21, 2004, a Jeep Grand Cherokee with optional Quadra-Drive II will climb to new heights to become the first-ever to attempt to scale a 30-story Manhattan skyscraper in search of the ultimate "Jeep Only" parking place.
The vehicle will climb the vertical surface of the building's east side in a feat planned to showcase the all-new 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee as the ultimate combination of off-road capability, on-road performance and "Big Apple" style.
More than 500,000 people are expected to witness the event on their way into work Thursday morning, from 8 to 9 a.m. (EDT), as the Jeep climbs to its "Jeep Only" parking spot at top of the Two Penn Plaza building on the southwest corner of the intersection of Seventh and 33rd. Once it is parked vertically at the top of the building's east side, it will remain there throughout the day.
Jeep vehicles have been helping people to expand their boundaries for more than 60 years. The impossible-to-miss climb incorporates the hallmarks of the Jeep brand with a new level of on-road performance, and off-road capability in the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee.
