Feature: F-150 Adds Luxury, Function for 2008
All-New Ford Options
Two new Ford F-150s give buyers even more choices. The Limited package will likely be the spiritual replacement for the Lincoln Mark LT and offer Lariat buyers another chance to separate themselves from the crowd. Look for pricing to start around $40,000.

Mid-box
Originally designed for landscaping fleet sales, this innovative mid-box sits behind the cab in front of a shortbed box, providing lockable storage for tools or other valuable items. Access doors are on both sides of the truck, and the driver's key fob locks and unlocks both mid-box doors. Each access door is made from commercial-grade steel and also is weather- and dust-sealed. Because the mid-box is just for longbeds, it'll be offered only on the regular-cab F-150 with the 145-inch wheelbase and SuperCab F-150s with the 163-inch wheelbase.
Rearview camera
The new rearview system uses a small lipstick camera in the tailgate-handle bezel. The system's activated only in reverse. The video image is displayed on the left side of the rearview mirror. Also a great feature for those who have a trailer to tow or hitches to hook up, the video image won't instantly disappear when shifted back into drive or park, allowing the driver to make alignment adjustments as needed.
Bed cargo management
The newly designed, factory installed bedrail cargo-management system Ford is using on its F-150 is similar to GM and Nissan's systems. The basic system comes with two siderails on the three bed sides, a pair of bins, a pair of crossbars, and a headbar. Extra bins or tie-off cleats are available.
• Rails have cleat positions every 3.5 inches
• Cleats can hold 600 pounds of load
• Crossbars can hold 100 pounds of weight
• Side-mounted plastic cargo boxes hold 60 pounds of gear
• Cargo boxes are watertight and can act as coolers
• Boxes can automatically key themselves to driver's ignition key
