Hummer may soon be under the ownership of a foreign company, but that doesn't mean it will be relocating to the other side of the Pacific. Hummer's operations will still be run stateside, and because it will be leaving the GM nest, Hummer has been scouting possible locations for its new corporate headquarters. CEO Jim Taylor had revealed they have been looking at areas around Detroit and Nashville, and spokesman Nick Richards has confirmed they have had preliminary talks with economic development officials in Williamson County.
Because the sale of Hummer between GM and Tengzhong has not been finalized yet, it is still too early to visibly see where the Hummer offices will end up. Richards states that the final destination will depend on various factors including incentive package, employee relocation advantages, and the strength of the location's automotive base.
