Volkswagen will be recalling 14,416 2007-2009 Touaregs because the roof spoiler can potentially detach itself from the vehicle, which could create even bigger problems if the SUV is in motion while it happened. The issue originates from the spoiler's fastening struts, which can crack and ultimately lead to the loosening and detaching of the aerodynamic element from its original location. To remedy the problem, Volkswagen dealers will install reinforcement wedges to keep the spoiler in place.

Touareg owners can contact Volkswagen at 800.822.8987 for more information, or visit www.safercar.gov.
