After sticking around for 30 years, the G-Class will be around for another six, at least. Austrian contract carmaker Magna Steyr, who has built 200,000 examples of the G-Class already, recently confirmed they will continue to manufacture the symbolic SUV for Mercedes until the end of 2015.

The G-Class was originally developed as a military vehicle, but since its introduction as a production vehicle in 1979, it has been highly recognizable thanks to its boxy frame and silver star up front.
