2009 Ford Escape Hybrid and Toyota Highlander Hybrid Land on KBB's Best New Family Vehicles List

KBB has released their picks for their top 10 family cars, which includes four hybrids and a diesel. Representing the larger vehicle segment from the list are the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid, 2009 Toyota RAV4, 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, 2009 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid, 2009 Chevy Traverse, and the 2009 Honda Odyssey. The remaining picks include the 2009 Honda Civic, 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid, 2009 Chevy Malibu, and the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen TDI.
On top of the need to be safe and affordable, other factors used in determining the top new family vehicles included resale value, capability, kid-friendliness, and an extra emphasis was placed on fuel economy. Given the record-high fuel prices still fresh in commuters' minds, the listed vehicles ensure the smart use of fuel for families on the go.
