Recall Alert: 2009 Ford Ranger 4x2

February 20, 2009
By Benson Kong
2009 Ford Ranger Front Mud View

Over 11,000 2009 Ford Ranger trucks are being recalled due to faulty front wheel spindles that were improperly manufactured. The faulty front wheel spindles are susceptible to fracturing under normal use, which may cause a wheel to separate from the truck.

The NHTSA campaign ID number is 09V040000, and the Ford recall number is 09S07. Ranger owners can contact Ford at 866-436-7332, or get more information on the recall from www.safercar.gov. Spindle replacements will be made at Ford dealers free of charge if deemed necessary.
